Slow Movement


My favorite design blog – apartmentherapy.com featured “slow designers” - local artisans who hand craft and reuse materials in design. I’m not all hooked on “green” design or “save the earth” pleas –I mean, who I am kidding: I just hardly learned to recycle. And when design is pretty, it just is …But what I like is the SLOW in design. There is something therapeutic in efforts to make things (although I always have to slow down to not get excited for the final project) and recognize what is being made. So I’m hooked on making things slow, all things slow, at least for the winter. The Slow Cooker, 12 hours chili, pumpkin soup, and hand made embroidered pillowcases, knitted sweaters, carved wood birds, tin can phones and record bowls…
