Classy ambivalence

I find it absolutely amazing that people can stick to one thing without causing *internal* dilemma. Although perhaps I could minimize personal dilemma if I choose just one...one thing to be or focus on. In one day, one single day (today for example) I convinced myself that starting tomorrow I MUST start becoming a shop owner, world traveler, home owner, psychotherapist, proud foster parent, interior designer, parent care taker, plush animal maker, community organizer, school go-er, university professor and hostess with the most-est in a big nice rambler. Maybe a graystone or a *charming* apartment with hardwood floors. Superstar tennis player, biker, walker (not hiker) and athlete. Non-smoker too. Surprisingly, most times I am content. But I've got to hope for something more.

Afterall Gloria Steinem said...
"Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning".

And Peggy Lee sang so loud and proud "Is that all there is"?
